Platform Development Engineer

This , reporting into the wireless system team is central to the development of 's product range.
The position involves the definition and execution of the platform validation strategy for ’s 3G platform. It will involve the development of platform printed circuit boards, including system interfaces such as application processors, power management, memory, display, RF module etc, writing platform level validation code to exercise System On Chip functions, developing automated regression test suites.
The profile of the ideal candidate would have the following characteristics:
Experience of developing complex SOC based products
PCB design experience
Writing ‘C’ and assembler code on embedded processors
Development of low-level hardware drivers
Use of real-time embedded debug tools
Use of logic analyser and digital signal generator tools
Development of test equipment control code – GPIB
Development of GUIs
Customer support
Candidates should have an excellent academic background (at least a 2:1 degree from a top-tier university) and at least 3 – 5 years experience. They should also be highly motivated and excited by the prospect of working in a fast-paced startup environment.
