Project Manager for Development Tools

To take responsibility for the complete lifecycle of one or more projects, with particular emphasis on the hardware debugging systems and their associated firmware.

Reporting to the Development Systems Programme Manager, this will entail planning, tracking and delivery of projects within the project management framework. You will be expected to work closely with the relevant Product Marketing Managers and Engineering Managers to ensure that the commercial requirements are fully understood and project managed to successful products. A background in debug tools is desirable and experience of hardware, firmware & software is essential. Some cross functional working with other groups will be required, and travel between Blackburn and Cambridge & Maidenhead will be expected.

Responsibilities



Ensure project completes on-time, to budget and is right-first-time.



Ensure complete customer satisfaction.



Responsible for all project planning, schedules, risk management, and resolution of problems.



Progress tracking and reporting using Project Management processes.



Liaison with other project managers to ensure proper management of project interdependencies.



Day to day management, task setting and monitoring of progress, working closely with the Design Centre manager, technical project leaders and with product marketing.



Promotion of team spirit and teamwork culture.



Work closely with commercial, legal and technical functions.



Personal Specification

Education
Good University degree in Computer Science or other relevant technical discipline.

Experience



Management of medium and large sized projects



Use of project planning tools, people management



Good understanding of combined hardware/software development



Previous experience of multi-site co-ordination would be an advantage
