Senior/Principal Research Engineer

Location: Cambridge, UK


Either with a PhD degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science/Engineering or Mathematics or a related discipline



Or have 6+ years post graduation experience in microprocessor architecture.



The researcher will be involved in research on various aspects of IP architecture. The candidate should also be able to demonstrate working knowledge of the following areas, with detailed specialist knowledge of two or more of the following areas:




microprocessor architecture



compiler construction



operating systems



algorithm design (esp. media, signal processing & numerical)



circuit design



CMOS technology and low power design approaches to dynamic and leakage current reduction



VLSI (Synthesis/P&R, Custom CMOS design)



Knowledge in some of the following areas would be a distinct advantage:



On-chip interconnect



Semiconductor Physics



(Re-) configurable logic - principles and future evolution



Linux kernel



Familiarity with embedded software development



Experience of VHDL/Verilog



Experience of modern structured programming languages (C++, Java, ML, Haskell, etc.)



Experience/knowledge in System-Level design (e.g. UML, Requirements Languages, Analysis techniques.)



Experience of SoC design flow (RTL to GDSII)



Experience of Verification and Validation (Certification a bonus).
