Integrity Engineer


Role Summary:

Our Client provides engineering services and systems solutions to major customers in the energy and utility sectors. In the area of pipeline and plant integrity management, it provides consultancy around the world and is at the forefront of developments in advanced defect assessment methods. Due to increased workload exciting opportunities now exist for a senior integrity engineer to join the team to lead and deliver projects and to help further grow the business.
Through their technical experience they will contribute to the development of the Practice in identifying further opportunities to deploy skills and capabilities with our clients.

Job Description:

Key activities include:

•Delivering integrity projects on plant, pressure vessels and transmission pipelines using deterministic methods.
•Ensuring customer satisfaction on projects while delivering the planned profit for the client.
•Depending on experience and abilities, responsible for ensuring technical quality in the appropriate field(s), and being the custodian for methodologies, associated software and processes.
•Developing new business including initiating and closing out proposals

Role Dimensions:

Financial (budgetary controls etc.)
•Financial control of projects to deliver within cost plans.

Non Financial (staff management etc.)
•Management responsibilities will include management of fluid teams
•Contributing to business and team development

Typical Outputs (reporting requirements etc.)
•Delivery of high quality work for clients.
•Coaching and mentoring team and reports to build technical expertise.
•High quality proposals for new work for clients.
•Ad-hoc presentations to clients as required in support of project delivery and business development.

Job Requirements:

Ideally candidates will require:

•Flexibility, drive and determination.
•Excellent communication skills including the ability to write clear and concise reports.
•Ability to work to tight deadlines.
•Excellent team working skills and time management skills.
•Flexibility to travel within the UK and overseas for various periods of time.
•Relevant degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline, Chartered status.
•Good knowledge of pipelines and pressure vessels.
•Proven ability in at least one of the following areas:
- Fatigue/fracture mechanics assessments
- Finite element analysis
- Pipeline integrity assessments using in line inspection data
•Conducting fitness for service assessments of pipework, pipelines and pressure vessels using internationally recognized standards such as API 579-1/ASME FFS-1, BS 7910 or R6/R5
