Description:
Our client is the UK’s Market Leader in the field of applied environmental biotechnology, effectively leading a “Green Revolution” in the culture and application of specific bacterial strains to degrade a wide variety of organic pollutants from hydro-carbon contaminated land, recovering treatment plants following a toxic shock and biological grease management. Our client also produces a range of products for the retail market.

Our client’s principal markets are operators of hot food premises notably supermarkets and fast food chains, the major water companies and companies operating their own industrial treatment plants.

We are looking to recruit a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to enhance existing marketing strategies and develop new markets in conjunction with the existing management team and board.

Key Function:
Manage the process responsible for identifying, anticipating and satisfying customer requirements profitably.

Key Responsibilities:

Optimise existing market strategies
Develop new routes to market, both with existing target markets and new market areas
Provide market data for product / sales development
Generate and collate market intelligence on customers / competitors / products
Present to customers and issue quotes
Work with the Directors in presenting to potential investors
Work with the existing sales team to implement sales and marketing strategies
Design and manage the development of marketing literature
Coordinate the PR effort
Manage the advertising budget
Design and manage the development of marketing literature and other promotional information / activities

Candidate Requirements:
Ideally the candidate will have extensive B2B marketing experience, especially in developing relevant markets to our client’s business
They will be able to demonstrate clear success in the targeting and effective penetration of relevant markets from a facilities management or service provision perspective
They will have a degree in business or marketing OR sufficient experience in a similar role
An understanding of the “technical” side of our client’s business would be beneficial
They will be relaxed, good communicators, excellent listeners and they will have excellent attention to detail
They will be ambitious, driven by financial gain and eager to acquire a Directorship with the company in quick time
Candidates must have a good reputation
Ideal candidates will already have useful connections within relevant industry sectors. However – the ability to generate new leads and achieve success with brand new business is equally as important.
