Project Controls Specialist


To provide specialist support to the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, & Construction) and HMS (Heat Management System) proposals and projects functions in the development of project planning and control systems and in the implementation of these systems on projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Manage the day-to-day activities of the project controls function for European Operations.

•Proactively identify, aggressively pursue, and successfully implement strategic, operational, and work process improvement opportunities for the Project Controls Department and other areas of our business.

•Create, implement and manage departmental standards and procedures to support efficient project planning and control systems.

•Have a detailed knowledge of applying Primavera P3ec, databases and Excel and ASW as project scheduling and control tools to plan, document, track, trend and report engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, testing, commissioning and turnover activities associated with electric heat tracing and insulation installations in industrial and/or commercial building facilities.

•Work with management, finance, engineering, procurement and construction staff in the development of project planning and control systems and implementation of these systems on projects.

•Prepare detailed CPM schedules for task planning, resource management, progress monitoring, daily labour input and earned value analysis in conjunction with our project management and supervisory staff.

•Communicate and coordinate with client/customer representatives and other contractors to identify their needs and expectations and interface these with company activities and practices.

•Support project and construction managers in progress review meetings and presentations with client’s/customers or their representatives.

•Assist the construction coordinators and manager in reviewing, evaluating, processing and maintaining systems for tracking site instructions, contract amendments and project trends.

•Establish and maintain good internal and external customer relationships.

Management reserve the right to assign or re-define duties and instruct the post holder to carry out any other duty commensurate with this post.

• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate team player mentality.
• Confident personality with good presentation skills
• Excellent database, Primavera P3ec/P6 & Excel skills are essential.
• Experience with ASW would be an asset to this position.
• Fluent in English language and preferably another language


COMMENTS:

Job role will require occasional business travel throughout Europe
