Scheduler/Planner
1.1. Ensures that dates, times and other requirements which are critical as per QCP arrangement are met by
1.1.1. Evaluating what skills and other resources are required to meet inspection needs.
1.1.2. Comparing the QCP’s requirements to the Inspection notification.
1.1.3. Scheduling the appropriate Inspection service provider, technology, and geographical area
1.2. Ensures continuity of Inspection by
1.2.1. Comparing the QCP’s requirements to the planned arrangements in accordance to inspection notification.
1.2.2. Scheduling planned Inspection and ensure time and dates are communicated effectively.
OPTIMISES THE RESOURCES USED FOR QCPs AND DISPATCH CONSULTANT AS PER TECHNOLOGY AND GEOGRAPHICAL AREA by:
2.1. Balances Inspection resource requirements by
2.1.1. Evaluating inspection requirements for a specific technology and geographic area and period of time to determine the Inspection resources required.
2.1.2. Comparing the inspection requirements to the available resources.
2.1.3. Matching the relevant skills and other inspection resources to the QCPs requirements for the relevant time frame.
2.2. Levelling resource requirements by
2.2.1. Evaluating the contract milestones agreements, planned QCPs requirements and inspection resource constraints (including business imperatives which impede resource availability).
2.2.2. Evaluating the peaks and troughs of workloads over the entire QCPs execution
Management Centre geographical area.
2.2.3. Shifting the workload to reduce the peaks and fill the troughs by
distributing inspection needs across Global boundaries.
2.2.4. Scheduling contracted resources in order to optimise the schedule.
2.3. Achieves optimal utilisation of inspection resources and manages risks by
2.3.1. Utilising the appropriate Consultant which is most optimally located from a geographic point of view.
2.3.2. Evaluating future planned QCPs in order to identify opportunities for optimisation.
2.3.3. Utilising the minimum skill and competency level required to perform the inspection.
2.3.4. Ensuring appropriate task orders are allocated to correct Consultant.
2.3.5. Utilising the most cost effective combination of technology, competence and skills to execute inspection effectively.
ESTABLISHES AND MAINTAINS INSPECTION SCHEDULE by:
3.1. Negotiates the inspection of the schedule by
3.1.1. Evaluating the inspection requirements for the inspection period.
3.1.2. Establishing a preliminary inspection schedule based on past experience.
3.1.3. Identifying conflicting requirements of the relevant role players.
3.1.4. Resolving conflicting requirements.
3.1.5. Integrating the inspection schedule with all the relevant stakeholders cross functionally
3.2. Integrates the various demands on the inspection schedule by
3.2.1. Evaluating inspection requests to determine the resource requirements.
3.2.2. Evaluating the relative priorities of the inspection requests.
3.2.3. Updating the inspection schedule to include the new inspection requests.
3.3. Expedites resources in support of the inspection schedule by
3.3.1. Determining which resource constraints are placing the inspection schedule at risk.
3.3.2. Exploring all alternatives available to source the relevant inspection resources.
3.3.3. Initiating the most appropriate alternative.
3.4. Re-negotiates and re-schedules inspection by
3.4.1. Evaluating the changes in circumstances which lead to a change in the inspection schedule.
3.4.2. Obtaining inputs from all relevant parties on proposed revisions to the work schedule.
3.4.3. Updating the inspection schedule.
3.5. Forecasts inspection resource requirements in support of the QCPs by
3.5.1. Determining the inspection requirement for the forecast period.
3.5.2. Evaluating the resource requirements associated with the inspection requirement for the forecast period. Ensuring that resource forecast information is available.
INFORMATION MANAGEMENT by:
4.1. Manages inspection scheduling information by
4.1.1. Ensuring that task orders are correctly completed
4.1.2. Regarding response times, updated availability of resources, resources consumed and progress on work.
4.1.3. Regarding the history of inspection done on manufactured components.
4.1.4. Providing exception information.
4.1.5. Providing information on utilisation of resources.
4.1.6. Ensuring that information is archived and backed up.
EFFECTIVENESS IMPROVEMENT by:
5.1. Recommends improvements to the scheduling environment by
5.1.1. Analysing the effectiveness of the currently utilised scheduling processes and business rules.
5.1.2. Evaluating resource mix and location.
