Our client, a world renowned centre for innovation, design engineering, prototyping, agile manufacture, market feasibility and support, due to their continued success are currently seeking to recruit a hands on Toolroom Manager to join their team in Cardiff. You will be a highly experienced toolmaker with a time served apprenticeship, specialising in the manufacture, modification and maintenance of injection mould tooling including jigs and fixtures. The primary requirements of this position are as follows: · Knowledge and experience of all types of CNC machining including the toolmaking of injection mould tooling; · Knowledge of all aspects of mould tool manufacture including troubleshooting; · Project management experience and a determined approach to meeting deadlines, and production/budgetary requirements; · Ability to supervise a team and mentor junior staff; · Well-developed CAD/CAM skills (ideally using “IDEAS” or “NX3”); · Must be skilled in the operation of manual machining and bench assembly; · Ability to set and/or operate other tool-room machine-shop equipment (E.g. spark eroders, turning and grinding); · Experience of using Microsoft Office Software; · Awareness of production techniques and an understanding of cost implications. Candidates must have excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills as well as the ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines. Candidates will also need to have a flexible approach with the ability to lead and work as part of a team. Although you will be running the toolroom, you will also need to be comfortable with working on the tools as this is a very hands on role.
