The companies role is to ensure that the engineering sub-contractors complete their work with minimal deviance from time, cost and engineering compliance objectives. Responsibilities: § Team management of four staff: Commercial Manager, Production Engineer, Contract Engineer and a Clerk. § Monitoring the sub-contractors activities against time, cost and operational objectives. § Acting in a “Operations Manager” functional to co-ordinate and improve the production operations and engineering process of on site sub-contractors. This will focus on the fundamentals of workflow, floor layout, supply chain (not purchasing) and operational organisation. § Providing management data to colleagues for use at shareholder meetings. § Direct management of £2 - £3 million (variation fund) within the £75 million three-year project. Experience & Skills: § Operations or Production Management experience gained in multi-disciplined engineering / assembly environments. Ideal examples; specialist vehicle, defence vehicle, bus-coach, rail, aerospace, build or repair. § Commercial understanding; supply chain, work in progress, through put. § Instinct for production operations efficiency. § Able to bring different teams together and gain buy-in to operational change / improvement. § Budget responsibility of £1m or above. § Degree or equivalent in production / manufacturing business or similar.
