Responsibilities: The core function is to increase manufacturing capacity through the assembly lines. This will involve: § Reviewing current methods and devising layout and tooling changes to standardise and increase efficiency. § Reviewing line side replenishment methods and working with the stores team to develop efficiencies. § Longer-term goals include working with design engineers and materials / purchasing engineers to increase the DFM (design for manufacture) considerations. Experience & Skills: § Minimum three years experience in engineering / manufacturing. § It is essential to have experience in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement working culture. § In addition to lean / continuous improvement, it is essential to have worked in a large fabrication environment (lean experience and large fabrication experience may have been gained at two separate employers) e.g. rail, aerospace (mechanical), off road vehicle, commercial vehicle, automotive systems (chassis, steering), generators or large power-pack, vehicle conversion, wind energy, leisure vehicle, agricultural equipment or similar large mechanical equipment. § Additional skills that would be an advantage include new product introduction (NPI) from a manufacturing point of view, ability to understand / use CAD, tool development and line balancing. Salary & Package: £25,000 to £30,000
