Quality Engineer

Growing Fabless semiconductor company, with a customer base that is expanding and already includes large and demanding companies from sectors such as automotive, PCs and mobile communications.
This necessitates having the following key activities:-
A robust and effective Quality Management System;
Good relationships with customers and suppliers, including reviewing and controlling essential documents, as well as managing change control.
Strict control over our manufacturing suppliers, to ensure product achieves the highest levels of quality and reliability that our customers expect.
To this end, a Quality Engineer is now required, with the ability to sustain and improve a top-class quality system across .
You will be responsibile for the following:
a) Perform reviews of customer specifications, in order to ensure that we will comply with all requirements during manufacturing and shipping of product.
b) Respond to customer questionnaires and generate quality documentation, such as Quality Plans, as required.
c) Support change control for our products. This will involve convening Change Review Boards, performing change notification and obtaining acceptance of such changes from key customers.
d) Manage 's internal audit program, including performing audits to ISO9001 standard. Software and Module Manufacturing are playing an ever more important part in our portfolio and system/audit coverage of these vital areas needs strengthening.
e) Facilitate improvement of the ISO9001 certified Quality System by developing quality methods and processes throughout the organisation and helping to generate flowcharts and documented procedures.
f) Attend Design Reviews and Software Release Reviews as the Quality representative.
g) Administer our electronic documentation control system. This will include ensuring that documents both to and from our customers and suppliers are controlled in the correct manner.
h) Manage supplier process control, to ensure possible issues and excursions are detected and responded to in a timely manner. This will require auditing our suppliers as well as developing understanding of the latest packaging and wafer manufacturing technologies.
This position will involve some foreign travel.
You will gave experience of working within and auditing of an ISO9001 approved quality system is required and experience of the semiconductor industry is clearly preferred.
