Software Engineer - Debug Interface/Driver Development

Background
The Development Systems Division provides a range of tools to developers of systems. These include C/C++ Compilers, assemblers, GUI debuggers, instruction set simulators, development boards and hardware debugging systems. These tools are provided for both Microsoft Windows and UNIX host environments and support software development for all CPUs both with, and in advance of the availability of, target silicon.
Recent industry trends have resulted in a significant number of designs utilizing both core and a DSP. In a drive to support integrated debug of both the core and the DSP, DevSys is looking to extend its debug solutions to encompass the popular DSP devices.
Role
To work within an existing team of hardware and software engineers to implement highly efficient control/emulation and trace of cores and selected DSPs. To both support existing designs and be responsible for new design solutions and their software interface to leading edge debugger software.
This will entail working with a number of development teams, located at several sites in the UK and the United States.

Technical Requirements

Relevant degree or industrial experience.

C/C++ programming experience (MFC not required)

Low level programming experience

Experience interfacing to hardware/device drivers

Exposure to microprocessor or DSP debug technologies

Personal Requirements

Highly motivated, methodical, organized, proactive, analytical approach to work with a willingness to learn.

Ability to work with others in a team, especially when under pressure, and willingness to accept challenging responsibilities.

Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
