GROUND SEGMENT SYSTEMS ENGINEER - Ref. 2528

PRINCIPAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Integrate quickly in to an established team and undertake a variety of systems engineering tasks associated with the Galileo Ground Control Segment activities

• Responsible for the performance of operations related activities and validation of satellite and ground operations procedures for routine and contingency modes of operation of the Galileo constellation.

• Provide contributions toward the definition, specification and design of Galileo satellite Ground Segment operational requirements and design and development planning.

• Perform Operations activities over all mission phases and will include activities associated with LEOP, In-Orbit Test, flight dynamics, automated operations and satellite analysis.

• Preparation of Design Development and AIV plans and procedures for the Ground Segment Elements within the Galileo system.

• Use of analytical system engineering tools.

• Preparation of technical material for proposals including specifications, design and development and test plans

• Preparation of input material for management, PA, Risk Assessment, RAMS documentation

• Prepare document including requirements, technical specifications and procedure using specific tools such as DOORS.

• Travel abroad at the designated satellite control centres locations for periods up to 3 weeks.

EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Essential

• Degree 2.2 or above or equivalent with theoretical and practical experience in satellite ground segment engineering.

• Experience in one or more of the areas of satellite and ground control operations, procedure preparation and validation, mission planning and simulation.

• Knowledge of operations, satellite control systems and operations tools.

• Self-Motivated with Good communication skill.

Desirable

• Knowledge of analysis tools including Satellite Tool Kit (STK), OPNET and system engineering software tools (e.g. Netviz, Mathcad).

• Knowledge of French, German, Italian language
