MECHANICAL PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN - Ref. 2542
PRINCIPAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
• Work on Electro-mechanical Assembly work and the bonding of delicate electrical components and close tolerance mechanical assembly.
• Preparation and adhesive bonding of mechanical and thermal components include:
• Strain gauges
• Testing and integrating initiators into Pyro-valves
• Assembly and integration of Thruster units
• Bonding and installation of flight brackets
• Configuration and installation of propellant Pressurent tanks and main engine.
• Work within other areas of the CPS manufacturing department such as:
• Harness wiring
• Pipe bending
• Propulsion welding
• Work as part of a successful and motivated team.
• Handle the pressures of working to tight schedules and meeting deadlines.
EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Essential
• C & G or NVQ Equivalent Mechanical with minimum 3 years experience of working in Aerospace industry.
• Familiar with class 100,000 clean room practises.
• Familiar with and able to work with shop documentations such as drawing, work instructions and bill of materials to standard processes and procedures.
• Prepare to work shift typical 6:00 am to 2:00pm and 2:00pm to 10:00 pm and to work off site 2 to 4 weeks.
• Flexible and a quick learner to pick up new skills quickly and to the required standard.
Desirable
• C & G or NVQ Equivalent Electrical
• Prior knowledge of aspects outlined above in the responsibilities.
• Fork lift trained
• ESA qualified.
