Specialist Nurse (RNLD)

£25,424 p.a - £31,779.00

We are currently seeking a specialist nurse with in-depth knowledge in Asperger's and Autism for an exciting position based near Bristol. You will be

• Responsible for the welfare & development of all residents by providing the highest standard of personal care & ensuring that appropriate attention is paid to their physical, cultural, social, educational and recreational needs in accordance with CPA’s.
• As a proactive member of the planning team you will be involved in formulating and implementing CPA and behavioral management plans. Regularly assess and evaluate these and communicate any changes to all staff to ensure consistency of approach.
• As part of a planning team formulate & maintain full comprehensive records for identified residents, provide all relevant reports to appropriate persons within agreed timescales for CPA meetings, Mental Health Review Tribunals & MUTA meetings.
• Ensure that residents are assisted in maintaining clean and hygienic accommodation.
• Establish & maintain empathetic, informative & professional relationship with families/carers, advocates & professionals.
• Support and develop staff/trainee/students in the defined approaches to maintain consistency.
• Manage and development the performance of staff assigned to you through the MSD/Apprasial process.
• Ensure the safe administration, storage & ordering of all medication & homely remedies in accordance with the Company Policy.
• Co-operate with all staff in maintaining good relationships with external agencies and the general public in order to uphold the Society’s image
• Keep abreast with current best practice of care for people with Asperger Syndrome, Mental Health issues and challenging behaviour.
