Senior Electrical Network Design Engineer

Our Client has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Electrical Network Design Engineer.

As a specialist organisation based in Essex that deals with conceivable energy management and provides solutions to both large and small businesses, our Client has been established for over 10 years and they work on behalf of electricity distribution utility companies, consultants, Contractors and related parties in the provision of electricity design and estimation services associated with:-

- New low voltage electricity connections
- New high voltage electricity connections
- Diversions of existing electricity distribution network
- Grid connections for embedded generation

The position will include ensuring Company conformance to quality assurance procedures, CDM and compliance with the Company Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Standards (ISO 18001)

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking electrical design projects within the Design section of the Engineering department.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• An experienced electrical power systems network design engineer with a minimum of 5 years relevant industry or power systems design experience
• 3 years minimum managerial or supervisory experience
• You will be managing key client accounts including delivery to agreed KPI’s
• Managing Delivery of Power Systems design projects
• Ability to lead a structured team including both graduate and experienced engineers and administrative support
• Completion of detailed design drawings and estimating schedules
• Customer liaison and relationship management across allocated engineering projects / account.
• Compliance and further development of UPL’s Quality Standards (ISO 9001-2000)
• Maintaining awareness of developments within the energy/utilities marketplace and industry structure
• Representing the Company at client / utility meetings
• Accurate updating of internal and external IT databases and related systems
• Liaison with IT/Quality/Finance Departments where appropriate.
• Other relevant duties as required by Engineering Manager

The package on offer is £35,000 – 50,000 per annum depending on experience, 20+ days paid holiday and this opportunity provides the starting point to a long-term structured career path in power system design, with training and mentoring provided to achieve engineering registration and full Membership to the IET.
