Device Test Engineer

The Roll
To receive instructions verbally and in written format to undertake the following;
Fabrication of test rigs & prototype products
Hydrostatic or pneumatic testing of pipe line products including valves & couplings

The Candidate
Mig welding experience
Hand & pillar drill operation
Offhand grinding operation
Manual handling skills including overhead operation
Bench fitting skills, use of hacksaws, files, hand drills and other powered hand tools etc
Reading & interpretation of engineer drawings
Appreciation & use of pressure equipment, pumps, air bottles & reading of pressure gauges
Soldering & brazing
Use of basic inspection equipment, e.g. vernier calipers, micrometers, heights gauges etc
Experience in a mechanical engineering environment
Work from written instructions
Reporting own work in verbal & writing
Aware of safe working practices in an engineering workshop
Ability to work safely unsupervised
