Flexible Salary - £27,000 to £37,000
UK Wide remit

The role is a Systems Design Engineer for a Combined Heat and Power design team providing site evaluation and systems design drawings for CHP (Combined Heat and Power) and DH (District Heating) schemes between 250kW and 10MW across the UK. Ideally you will be a Mechanical Engineer or an Electrical Engineer.


You will take a key role in the design team, working alongside other design engineers and technical analysts, tasked with delivering outline and detailed design specifications, often resulting in the formation of Energy Services Companies.

The department is a new, rapidly growing department within a very large energy provider. The company has enough critical mass to offer a highly flexible approach to the design, build, own and operate practice which means it is seen as a very attractive company to work with. They are winning many contracts in all facets of the CHP market.

To date, the department began in early 2007 and currently has a work force of 60 people in the department. The growth plan is to have well over 100 people by the end of the year.


The ideal type of individual is an experienced mechanical or electrical design engineer with particle experience designing and installing CHP systems with a good knowledge of drafting or technical drawing. You will have had exposure to live projects and be able to demonstrate design experience.

The role:
Having the growth plans that they do, they are creating 3 new business pods. The systems design engineer is tasked with creating simple and complex design solutions for large scale domestic and commercial projects.

What you need to be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in Mechanical or Electrical engineering design
- Strong organisational skills and capable of working on multiple projects
- Experience in designing CHP systems, knowledge of heating design
- Drafting or technical drawing (CAD preferred)
- Degree Qualified (mechanical or electrical)
