Substance misuse practitioner

Experience giving tier 2 or 3 substance misuse interventions is essential. Knowledge of harm minimisation is essential. Experience prescribing substitutes is a benefit.

A local substance misuse service is looking for a drugs practitioner to aid in its provision of treatment to local clients with opiate addictions. The role will involve giving tier 2 harm minimisation advice within a needle exchange. This role will also involve creating person centred care plans designed to address addictive behaviour through key working as well as the usage of prescribed substitutes. This role may be extended beyond the initial temporary 6 month period.
