Nursing Home Manager (Edinburgh)

Home Manager required for this purpose built care home opening in November 2008.
Based in Edinburgh the care home will cater for frail older people as well as other specialisms.
A great opportunity as this is a bran new purpose built home for a project that has involved working in partnership with the local council. The successful candidate will be recruited to start August.

The manager would need to be a Registered Nurse ideally with RMA qualification or be willing to work towards. Applicants would need to have some care home management experience.

As a Manager you will comply with all company policies and procedures, regulations and statute to ensure the highest possible regulatory rating. Maintain sound working relationships with regulators, GPs associated with the Home and other appropriate outside agencies.

Keep the Regional Manager informed promptly of all significant matters relating to the Home. Assume 24/7 accountability for the Home, delegating as appropriate when not personally on site. Visit all areas of operation in the Home at frequent and regular intervals, demonstrating personal visibility and availability, including night and weekend visits if necessary.

Monitor the physical maintenance of the Home, liaising with the Regional Manager as necessary for recommendations for expenditure.
Selection and appointment of staff in accordance with statutory and regulatory constraints. Staff induction, training, supervision and appraisal.

Take all agreed actions to fill vacant beds and ensure highest levels of occupancy.
Ensure that the Home is well promoted in the local community.
Maintain contacts list and follow up all enquiries from potential residents.
Manage the Home in line with budget, or seek approval before any departure from budget assumptions occurs.
