Our client is a leading UK supplier of flour and bakery ingredients into the Retail, Foodservice and Manufacturing Sectors. They are currently seeking a Vehicle Technician for their vehicle workshop based at their site in Essex.
Distribution plays a vital part of our clients UK operation and they are looking for a qualified Vehicle Workshop Technician to play a vital part in keeping our clients fleet on the road. Duties will include, regular servicing of vehicles from 7.5 Tonne, Bulk Vehicles to 44 Tonne Tractor Units and Trailers. Preparation of vehicles, for MOT inspection and general maintenance and rectifying reported drivers defects.
The vehicle workshop is open from 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday with cover on Saturdays; your hours of work will be 06.00-14.30 Mon-Fri and Saturday 06.00-11.00 the second week 08.30-18.00. both amount to 47.5 hrs a and Skills:
Candidates should be qualified vehicle technicians with an indentured apprenticeship supported by a City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Engineering or similar recognised qualification.
You should have knowledge of bulk pressure systems, competent at vehicle diagnostics and have a good understanding of DOT operating requirements. You should also be PC literate in Word and Excel.
A full driving licence and LGV licence is essential. The successful candidate will have good people skills and be able to demonstrate their ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
A willingness to work flexible hours is essential as the role will involve varying work rotas and some Saturday working.
The salary range is between £25-26k depending upon experience. In addition overtime is payable.
