Mechanical Design Engineer

Principal Function

Based in the Research and Development Department at our clients offices you will be required to perform the following key tasks:

• Development of new breathing protection products, carbon-composite cylinders and accessories
• Development testing
• Member of cross-functional product development teams
• Maintaining product documentation – drawings, test reports etc

You will have knowledge and experience of the following:
• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3D CAD – preferably Pro/Engineer (but training will be given)
• Experience of testing and validation of new product designs
• Preferably statistical analysis skills – but training will be provided


You must:
• Be a strong, highly motivated person, able to work on your own initiative.
• Be a team player.
• Be able to demonstrate success in the development of new electronic products from concept to manufacture.
• Have an analytical approach – address the root cause of issues
• Embrace the opportunity to work with all areas of the Company, especially Manufacturing, Quality and Marketing. And to take on a wide range of tasks, as required, to get the job done.
• Have some experience in a Total Quality environment.
