Our Client is an International Peacekeeping Force which operates in the Sinai. As part of its role it maintains two military camps one in the North close to the Mediterranean coast and one in the South near Sharm El Sheikh.
They are currently seeking a Facilities Management Supervisor – North (FMSN) to be based at the North Camp at El Gorah in the Sinai.
Reporting into the Chief of Support, this is a key role managing the facilities maintenance and asset management of the North Camp.
The successful candidate will coordinate with the service support contractor for the planning, organizing and execution of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and the corrective repairs of our clients infrastructure.
You will develop policies and procedures so as to have effective and responsive maintenance of our clients facilities.
These programs will include consideration of the condition of the facilities asset base of our client and appropriate strategic management of the facilities. The job holder serves as the Contract Manager's Technical Representative (COTR) for all facilities maintenance related activities, providing quality assurance for all such contracted activity. You will supervise a staff comprised of 6 military and 1 civilian personnel.
You will develop and manage the Northern sector facilities maintenance and corrective
repair plan including strategies for tasks and timing. Necessary work will be performed to
assure continued availability of all facilities and capabilities needed to accomplish our clients
mission including portable water supply, waste disposal, electrical power as well as safe
habitable structures.
You will be responsible for budgeting and expenditures related to all Northern sector facilities
maintenance and corrective repairs.
You will review our clients facilities asset base and develop procedures to provide maximize levels of functionality in a cost effective manner across asset life cycles. This activity will require the development and maintenance of an accurate asset register including records of work performed to-date. You will also provide periodic assessments of remaining asset life and recommendations for replacement or service life extensions as appropriate.
You will be a key user of our clients SAP Plant Maintenance Module and shall have a
leadership role in further system development and usage. You will provide quality
oversight of the facilities work order system with a goal of continual process improvement.
You will manage the Service Support Contractor or other maintenance or corrective repair
contractor activities. This provides oversight of all contracted facilities maintenance operations. You will plan and manage the quality assurance effort for complete and timely performance by the contractor in accordance with the technical specifications and quality standards of the contract and plan for and manage the evaluation of contractor performance and prepare periodic written contractor performance reports.
You will participate in contract performance review meetings with contractor representatives
and our clients representatives.
You will carry out reviews, evaluate, and comment on contractor proposals related to
assigned contract maintenance Statements of Work. If required, you will work in conjunction
with our clients Contracts Manager to draft technical portions of maintenance or repair
contracts and and Skills:
To meet this unique challenge, you will ideally be an accomplished Facilities Management / Camp Services Manager with your experience being supported by a Degree in either an engineering or construction discipline.
You should have experience in managing sub contractors, preferably in The Middle East or remote areas.
You must have experience of an ERP Facilities Maintenance Management database. Previous experience of SAP Plant Maintenance module would be ideal.
With outstanding leadership ability and a strong customer focus, you will have the confidence to win credibility and make an immediate contribution.
Experience of working in a military environment or for an international facilities management services provider and other similar organisations would be ideal, as would experience of working in remote sites or in other arduous environments.
You should possess excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and ideally can speak some Arabic or Spanish.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions. Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence.
This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Facilities Management Manager looking for something different. Our client is seeking a minimum of 24 months commitment.
The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is a 20% location allowance payable and also a 7% allowance in lieu of a pension scheme, both of which are tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
A 2 year unaccompanied status contract is offered which includes free accommodation, laundry, local transport, life assurance, health insurance and meals. In addition employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and the internet for e-mails etc.
The holiday entitlement is 28 days plus 12 public holidays. Our client does not provide a specified number of free flights but awards a cash sum each year in US Dollars which the employee can spend as they wish to facilitate their r and r leave.
Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are paid for by our client.
