CAD Operator - Cambridgeshire

Red River's client, a successful multi-disciplinary building services company, is currently seeking a CAD Operator with good electrical / HVAC experience to be based at their offices near Cambridge. Reporting to the Principal CAD Engineer, the successful applicant will carry out Computer Aided Design work and related tasks over a range of current projects.

Main Duties:

* Undertake production of and modification to allocated Engineering/Co-ordinated and 'As Installed' drawings, including plotting and printing of drawings on manual CAD systems, as required, to meet specified deadlines.
* Adapt Consultants' drawings to work drawings in consultation with the Project Engineer.
* Undertake 'Builders Work' and 'As Fitted' drawings.
* Undertake site surveys as allocated.
* Implement, maintain and recommend appropriate procedures for CAD facilities to laid down Company standards.
* Undertake the continuous monitoring of new CAD/Computer product development and, in liaison with the CAD Manager, recommend appropriate CAD hardware/software for the Company.
* Facilitate any agreed temporary cover arrangements arising from workload pressures upon existing facilities.
* Undertake a range of project work as and when required.
* Programme and monitor such work to comply with drawing requirements and relevant deadlines.
* Undertake any other duties as requested from time to time that fall within the scope of the position.
* Work safely in accordance with the company's current health and safety policy and procedures.

Qualifications, skills & experience required:

* An overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of HVAC/electrical systems.
* The ability to use the following packages: Word, Excel, Autocad.
* The ability to work under pressure and to set deadlines.
* The ability to think ahead, plan and prioritise workload.
* The ability to work as a part of a team.
* Attention to detail.
* A professional telephone manner.
* The ability to build good working relationships with internal/external staff.
* A willingness to be flexible in order to meet the demands of the job.
* The ability to work unsupervised.
* The ability to read, interpret and fully understand specifications and drawings.

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience + generous benefits package.
