Health and Safety Manager

Reporting To: Production Director
Direct Reports: None
Ideal Start Date: ASAP

Job Purpose:
To continue to develop existing Health and Safety systems and processes and to drive them towards formal accreditation.


Person Spec:
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of H&S requirements (as regards manual handling, COSHH and area risk assessments.)
Applicants should also possess a sound appreciation of manufacturing processes and the inherent H&S considerations to be made within this type of environment.
Some knowledge of Lean principals would be advantageous.
A vital element of this role is for candidates to be assertive and prepared to push the client’s internal systems ‘to the next level’ a natural and desired milestone would be to achieve formal accreditation for the client’s internal H&S systems.

Interview Process:
Two-stage. Initial sit-down interview and follow-up tour of plant with opportunity to meet other managers.
