601/EN2220MS Water Systems Mechanic (Reverse Osmosis) - Contract / Iraq

Our Client was formed in 1992 from a requirement to provide UK MOD Defence Estates with a multi disciplined facilities management service. Today our client employs over 1200 people and provides its customers with a single source FM solution which provides results quickly and without undue complication, anywhere in the world.

Our client is seeking a fully qualified Water Systems Mechanic – Reverse Osmosis for its site at Basrah Airport, Southern Iraq.

This position is based at the UK MOD site at Basrah Airport and the successful candidate will be responsible for the effective maintenance, repairing and diagnostic fault finding on field based Reverse Osmosis plants and mobile waste works plant equipment which are operated at this UK military and Skills:

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Water Systems Mechanic with experience of maintaining, repairing and diagnostic fault finding on field based RO plants and mobile waste works plant equipment.

Ideally your experience should be supported by a qualification e.g. UK City & Guilds in water systems and preferably be qualified in hot and cold water systems and basic water hygiene techniques.

You will have hands on experience in the operation and maintenance of RO Plant technology, experience in the O&M of water and waste pipeline systems (steel & plastic) including valve and strainer maintenance. In addition you will be familiar with the L8 water regulations and have up to date knowledge of Health and Safety requirements when working with acids along with a basic understanding of how to manage PH and water quality.

Experience of working in post conflict, remote sites or in other arduous environments would be ideal.

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.

Good communication skills are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence.
