600/EN2219MS Generator Mechanic (Contract) / Iraq

Our Client was formed in 1992 from a requirement to provide UK MOD Defence Estates with a multi disciplined facilities management service. Today our client employs over 1200 people and provides its customers with a single source FM solution which provides results quickly and without undue complication, anywhere in the world.

Our client is seeking a fully qualified Generator Mechanic for its site at Basrah Airport, Southern Iraq.

This position is based at the UK MOD site at Basrah Airport and the successful candidate will be responsible for the effective maintenance, repairing and diagnostic fault finding of a variety of generators up to 500 KVA which are operated at this UK military and Skills:

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Generator Mechanic with experience of maintaining, repairing and diagnostic fault finding on a variety of generators up to 500 KVA. Ideally your experience should be supported by a qualification e.g. UK City & Guilds Standard.

You will have experience of and be familiar with generator farms linked in series and knowledge of computerized synchronization panels would be an advantage.
Experience of working in post conflict, remote sites or in other arduous environments would be ideal.

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.

Good communication skills are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence.
