SENIOR METALLURGIST

Engineering Consultancy Services team provides technical solutions to owners and operators of large capital value assets in the UK and overseas.

Clients are drawn from utility companies, oil and gas, industry, built environment, insurers and loss adjusters.

ECS has a vacancy for a Senior Metallurgist operating from offices in Surrey from where they provide office and field-based consultancy services to refinery, petrochemical and power plant clients on an international basis.

The services provided include condition assessment, materials and design consultancy, fitness for purpose and forensic engineering services covering mechanical (static and rotating) and electrical equipment.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree standard in metallurgy or materials engineering and will have knowledge of degradation mechanisms affecting high temperature steels, on-site metallurgical testing techniques, condition and remaining life assessment in the petrochemical and power generation industries.

The successful applicant will work as part of a team of mechanical engineers, metallurgists, material scientists and electrical engineers. The work is varied and challenging and there will be opportunities for foreign travel.
