Project Manager
Our client, an established and expanding Architects, based near St Albans in Herts, are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager
Technical Requirement
• Experience and understanding of Statutory Application processes including the preparation and submission of drawing packages for the following:
Planning Consent, Advertisement Consent, Listed Building Consent, Building Regulations and Building Warrant Approvals. Fire Officer, Trading Standards, Environmental Health. Liaising with Local Authorities and monitoring and negotiating approvals.
• Experience and understanding of CDM Regulations, including the preparation of Risk Assessments and Risk Registers.
• Experience and understanding of Health & Safety Legislation.
• Experience of taking briefs from clients and liaising with clients to develop briefs.
• Experienced in contract administration, assisting in the co ordination of construction drawing package and written specifications.
• Assisting with site construction problems and implementing design changes as they arise.
• Thorough working knowledge of contract law, current building construction practice and detailing including current building materials and their application and contract law.
• Carry out measured site and building and condition surveys if required.
• Understand the fee process and cost of work produced
• Undertaking structured CPD.
• Be able to understand schematic general arrangements and detail drawings for building construction and internal fitting out, including space planning, setting out, drainage and service layouts, construction details, joinery details etc.
Communication Skills
• Possess a flexible and dedicated approach to working in a team environment.
• Enjoy working with others.
• Be confident in communicating with other design consultants, landlords, agents, contractors, suppliers, lawyers’ clients and all their representatives.
• Chair design and site meetings on behalf of the client and issue minutes within seven days.
Skills/Knowledge
• Knowledge and awareness of current regulations and practices including:
The Building Regulations
The CDM Regulations
The Disability Discrimination Act
Good Building Practice including current product knowledge.
Contract Law, JCT and other.
• Brief knowledge of AutoCAD products.
• Knowledge of Microsoft, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
