Substance misuse practitioner

Experience case managing class A drugs users with a requirement for prescribed substitutes is essential. A substance misuse qualification or a nursing qualification would be a benefit.

A local service is looking for experienced substance misuse practitioners to take on an existing case load of clients on scripts for methadone or subutex, monitering their usage and titrating to the correct levels. The role will also involve assessing new referrals and setting up their programs, advocating their initial dosage and monitoring them to prevent overdoses and on top usage. There is the possiblilty for this role to be extended or be offered on a permanent basis.
