LUC-CM - Contracts Manager

Our Client is a privately owned company that specialises exclusively in developing attractive, purpose-built retirement apartments for people who have retired – and are ready to start living. They are currently looking to recruit a Contracts Manager to their team.

The Role/Purpose of the Contracts Manager would be to take overall control throughout the entire construction programme of approximately 5 sites to ensure that the company's standards of quality and cost control are implemented and schemes are built in accordance with standard details, specification, programme, cost and quality control.

The Ideal Contracts Manager will need to be tactful, influential and be able to motivate people to ensure output is sufficient to meet programme, and critical dates such as start on site, show apartment opening, first occupation and hand over to Customer or Customer Service Management are all achieved.

The Ideal Contracts Manager must have a good knowledge of H&S regulations and legislation, including CDM regulations and risk assessments. The Contracts Manager must have relevant experience in construction at site management level. The job entails the use of software packages and access to the internet via PC's or lap tops and computer literacy is therefore required so experience of using computers will be an advantage.

Conditions Of Work - The job involves working in an office as well as working onsite. Normal hours of work Mon - Thurs 9.00am to 5.30pm and Fri 9.00am 5.00pm with an hour for lunch each day. The Contracts Manager is expected to be flexible in keeping with the responsibilities of the position which may involve working additional hours, occasionally at weekends.

In all cases the Contracts Manager will be required to travel to the site. This may involve long journeys travelling from site to site. This post involves working on site. The Contracts Manager will not be on call at all times, but will be expected to respond in any emergency situation connected with the site, e.g. break ins, fire and dangerous occurrences.

The salary is negotiable and will depend upon the experience and ability of the individual candidate.
