LUC-CE2 - Commissioning Engineer

Reporting To: Commissioning Manager / Chief Eng.
Responsible For: Assistant, Junior or other Engineers.
Overall Purpose of Job: Commissioning of HVAC Systems

Main tasks of Job:

Responsible for day to day running of small contracts
Supervise and co-ordinate other commissioning Engineers/Teams
Prepare method statements for standard systems
To mark up engineering drawings
Pre-commission systems, identify and advise of shortcomings
Prepare system schematic drawings
Co-ordinate with other trade contractors
To commission all types of HVAC Systems to completion
To carry out elementary trouble shooting
Advise and assist on Variation works/Instructions
To compile and submit comprehensive commissioning reports
Successfully hand over completed contracts
Provide on the job training to Assistants and Junior Engineers
Undertake other tasks on occasions within the capabilities of the Jobholder
To ensure understanding and compliance with (site) Health and Safety requirements
Ensure the safe custody and use of instruments and equipment, arrange repairs and recalibrations when necessary

Skills and Competencies Needed:

In depth knowledge of CIBSE and BSRIA codes
Ability to correctly and competently utilise test instruments and equipment
Good knowledge of the principles of HVAC systems
Basic understanding of controls systems and their operation
Ability to read and work to Mechanical drawings
Basic understanding of contractual requirements
Good communication, reading and writing skills
Sound understanding and experience of Commissioning systems to acceptable standards
Systematic approach to problem solving
Basic organisational skills
Ability to work to a programme
Self motivated and ability to work unsupervised in a safe and conscientious manner
