Banksman

Our client is major supplier of Fruit to the UK, with 1200 acres of orchards they have a very busy yard and currently have a need for an experienced Banksman.
Responsible for the control of all vehicles on site in accordance with the company’s systems and procedures.

Accountabilities:
q Locating the vehicles on arrival
q moving them onto loading bays
q supervising the above manoeuvres
q liaising with the warehouse and the office
q supervising the departure of lorries
q recording all details including:
q departure times
q trailer temperatures
q To undertake any other pertinent tasks as required by the Management.

Responsibilities:
· Noting details of vehicles (including trailer temperatures) and times of arrival.
· Responsible for controlling all other visitors to the site and ensuring that health and safety procedures relating to hi-vis clothing and pedestrian walkways are adhered to.


Knowledge and Skills
· Numerate and diligent, able to work under pressure, ability to prioritise situations.
· This is an outdoors occupation in all weathers and involves a lot of walking.
· There is a requirement for close attention to detail in a very busy and fast moving environment.
