Sales Manager
Lead and motivate Area sales team of 3 account managers
• Leads and motivates team of Account managers. Will recruit additional staff where appropriate.
• Sets objectives for Account managers, carries out annual performance appraisal and review against competencies
• Implements departmental procedures and competencies, communicates bonus plans.
• Builds team morale, celebrating teams successes, recognising achievement and ensuring best practice communicated throughout the team
Area Territory, Personal Sales
• Will be responsible for Account Managers who manage areas from Birmingham to Northumberland and Carlisle.
• Your own area will be secondary schools in 3-5 Local Authorises where you will be expected to sell in addition to management of the team.
Reporting
• Submits weekly activity for all their team by 12 noon on each Monday
• Provides monthly report to Sales Director
• Updates Management System
• Provides regular feedback to Core BID team on suitable tender opportunities

Exhibitions
• Works at key national exhibitions, and supports AM’s at local exhibitions,
Personal Development
• Understands own development needs and discusses with Manager
• Takes time to understand changes in the market and communicate to team and Manager as appropriate
KEY REQUIREMENTS (Skills & Experience)
Sales Has a strong understanding of the sales process, has a record of having applied those principles and achieved consistent success.
Communication Is an effective communicator, able to communicate at a number of levels in coaching, training, report writing.
Establishes good relationships through different levels and functions within the organisation
Administration Is well organised and makes effective use of time
Is IT literate and makes effective use of spreadsheets, word and PowerPoint.
Has good Numeracy skills, being able to understand create sales plans, work with sales reports and forecasts, and respond to cost centre and P&L reports.
Sets realistic targets and objectives
Can be analytical and logical in thinking, and achieves a good balance of creative new ideas with logic and experience in producing plans and strategies.
Personal attributes Is energetic, self motivated tenacious and determined
Results oriented, able to follow plans through to their conclusion
Is self confident and able to challenge ideas and plans at all levels to ensure best possible results

Market Knowledge Understands the ICT Education market. Is able to understand schools and LEA’s priorities and communicate that knowledge to the team. Has an understanding of BSF, Academies and Bid led opportunities in the UK education sector?
