opiate prescribing substance misuse practitioner

Experience case managing clients or advising GPs on prescribed opiate prescriptions is essential.

A local service is looking for an experienced opiate substitute prescriber to join its growing team. The role will involve taking on an existing case load of substance misuse clients currently on scripts for methadone or subutex with a view to titrating them to a stable level where their needs can be key worked. The role will also involve assessing new referrals to the service advocating their initial dose and drawing up a suitable care plan. The role will also involve working alongside other partnership agencies and advising local GPs on levels of opiate prescribing. There is also the opportunity for this role to become permanent.
