MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform an integral role within a team comprising Technicians, Quality Engineers, Production Engineers and Production Controllers whose function is to plan, organise and co-ordinate the work of others, to control the application of problem solving techniques and to ensure that the results are achieved to satisfy internal / external customer requirements now and in the future.
Managing Operations
To liase with team leaders to ensure that work is planned to meet internal / external customer delivery requirements adopting Standard work and KPS work principles. (Customer 1st)
KPI
Successful 100% completion each day/week of agreed targets in line with Quality Standards using standard work principles
In line with company policy define and set KPI targets for all team leaders and review to ensure they are executed in a timely manner

Evidence of set / agreed KPI target in line with company policy and evidence of completion
Adopt / apply principles of PDCA to drive philosophy of Standard work, 6S PPS KPS and KDS polices

Evidence of Standard work practice, which can be audited via visual document. Evidence of 6S audits and KDS portfolios
To coordinate the activities of Team Leaders (Synergy) in the promotion of teamwork and harness the contribution of colleagues with Practical Problem Solving (PPS)

Evidence of PPS projects and audit sheets
To identify and manage the manpower resource requirements for the monthly build plan to increase / decrease as required to achieved budget.

Evidence of controlled and varied calculations to identify resource levels for build plan and budget
To analyse absenteeism, scrap and production audit records on a weekly basis and implement the necessary remedial action.

Evidence of data / documents for each area of responsibility
To produce formal monthly reports as requested on production figures, scrap, uptime etc. for presentation to Senior Management

To co-ordinate the activities of Team Leaders in the promotion of teamwork.

Ensure that Team Leaders adopt and implement KDS portfolio development for all colleagues and organise award ceremony in partnership with Human Resources.

To assist in the interviewing and selection of new colleagues in liaison with the Human Resources Department and appropriate Team Leader

Responsible for ensuring that all team leaders have the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their role.

Implement as required the company Performance Management policy for Team leaders in partnership with Human Resources

In conjunction with the Human Resource Officer of the area, organise the appraisal scheme and arrange performance reviews with colleagues.

To monitor and enhance the performance, conduct and attendance of colleagues in order to gain commitment to enable changes to be made in an effective manner and achieve efficiency

Evidence of return to work policy to include evidence of low levels of absence and labour turnover
Managing Information/Communication
To communicate on a regular basis with the Manufacturing Team/Area HRO'S to ensure maintenance plans and quality concerns, introduction of new plant and new lines are all included in the daily/weekly/monthly plans

Evidence of communication practices allied with timely briefing sessions
To discuss and analyse data provided by Team Leaders with the Senior Managers to support ideas for continuous improvement activities and help produce an implementation plan, and give Team Leaders the necessary resource to ensure successful completion

To understand the implications of the Health & Safety at Work Act and consider the practical plans to be taken to secure a safe working environment.

To ensure all practices involving Environmental Protection Act adhere strictly to the legislation requirements

To identify areas of risk and carry out risk assessments where necessary and implement/propose remedial action

Evidence of actual risk assessment being carried out in a timely manner utilising services of the Health & Safety Officer

Evidence of minimal issues raised with grievance and disciplinary
To understand the disciplinary and grievance procedure and carry out interviews within the laid down procedure, in conjunction with the Human Resource department

To ensure that housekeeping within the areas is maintained in a satisfactory condition demonstrating excellence with Production Systems and 6’s programme.

Qualifications
Ideally HND or degree qualified or equivalent
Minimum 3 years experience of working within a Manufacturing and/or dynamic environment.
A high level of communication and motivational skills and a well developed analytical approach to problem solving.
Must have knowledge of TPS, Kaizen, JIT, SMED, Lean manufacturing desirable
Must have Excel, word and PowerPoint knowledge.
Will already have supervisory experience.
