Main Purpose of job
To develop and implement programmes to improve processes, systems and ways of working throughout the business. These programmes will result in measurable operational and financial benefits to the business.

To develop a long-term vision for the deployment of Continuous Improvement activities and provide focused and dynamic leadership.

To drive the implementation of CI’s to facilitate sustainable positive change

General Considerations
Identify target areas across the business for improvement
Develop a rolling CI Plan containing business-wide opportunities.
Present financial justification, cost reductions, lead times and resource requirements to Senior Management
Create a cross functional team to support programme requirements
Project manage improvement and change programmes to achieve on time, on cost and deliver savings

Subordinates
The CI Manager will implement improvements through Shift Managers & Process Engineers and will be responsible for communications, appraisal, development, disciplinary and grievance matters.

Personnel from various areas of the business will be used on projects. Strong influencing skills will be essential for successful performance


Knowledge and Experience Required
A degree in manufacturing, engineering or a related subject
Extensive knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and methods and continuous improvement techniques
A proven track record of effectively implementing change programmes within a customer-driven manufacturing environment
Strong motivational, influencing and communications skills
The ability to manage complex and interdependent projects using appropriate software packages
Self-motivated and resilient
