Young persons substance misuse counselor

Qualification to diploma level in counseling, psychotherapy or psychology is essential. Experience counseling young persons various issues including substance misuse issues is essential. Professional accreditation would be of benefit although the right candidate would be able to count hours towards their accreditation.

A local service is looking for a qualified counselor or psychotherapist to work with hard to reach young persons with emotional difficulties and other issues such as substance misuse, giving one to one support on a caseload of 10-15 clients. The role will involve assessing and designing care plans for young persons, working with disaffected youths through outreach and in tandem with the Youth Offending Teams. This long term contract has the potential to be made permanent after an initial 6 months.
