Sytems Intergration Engineer - ASIC

To provide systems support for R&D activities for a leading-edge wireless technology project which will include support from ASIC specification and verification, to fully integrated product performance testing.
The successful candidate will be required to get involved with all aspects of integration and testing of new technology, involving analysis and debugging of problems (RF, BB, SW & Antennas), macro development and proving, integration testing and operability

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

- Development of technical requirements specifications & application guidelines.
- Development of tests systems and test harnesses.
- Integration of new hardware within existing reference baselines.
- Interfacing with external vendors and internal customers.
- Performance Analysis & estimation of critical parameters (e.g. power efficiency, data rate) for specific use cases.
- Integrating, debugging and testing solutions to prove performance.

Essential
# experience of engineering development.
# low power, embedded systems experience.
# Able to work in a UNIX/DOS/Windows development environment.
# Ability to develop thorough knowledge of relevant standards & specifications under own initiative.
# All round understanding of mobile handset architecture & system partitioning.

Desirable
# Experience of in circuit emulators.
# Experience with /TestStand/LabView/HPVEE ATE Systems.
# Knowledge of ASIC development processes.
# Knowledge of ARM processors.
# Experience of configuration management.
# Experience of all the development phases for new platforms.
# Familiarity with networking technologies, e.g. Ethernet, TCP/IP, VoIP, UMA.
# Knowledge of communications principles, e.g. modulation & coding, spread spectrum, OFDM, diversity techniques.
