Prevent & Deter Office, London

The candidate must have experience of working with socially excluded young people as part of Youth Offending Team within a Youth Justice or Crime Prevention Setting. The candidate must also have a sound working knowledge of factors that put young people at risk of offending and how these can be addressed to prevent further offending.

The candidate will be working in partnership towards the reduction of offending among young people having regard to the welfare of the child or young person and the protection of the public. The candidate will be working within a YOT, delivering intervention programmes for young people at risk of becoming prolific and priority offenders as part of the Prevent and Deter programme. Additionally the candidate will carry a case load of clients and conduct assessments. All this will be carried out within the relevant framework of legislation and within the guidelines outlined by the Council and Youth Justice Board.
