Contract Mechanical Engineers

Due to an increase in workload within the upgrade programme within my clients business. Their Project Engineering team require two Mechanical Engineers to monitor, support and supervise the progress of the installation works for the programme.

To support the installation programme, you will act as an Owners Engineer and have responsibility for supervising, progressing and reporting on the installation works.
You will work alongside the other multi disciplinary project engineers based in the offices at Longannet power station. You will work as part of the existing Engineering team and will be involved in various elements of the programme projects. The main elements of involvement will be:-

Supervision of the Installation works

Interface and management of Contractors

Installation progress reporting and programme

Project documentation

Liaison with station engineers and contractors.

Review, check and approve method statements and risk assessments

Site visits to review progress, attend meetings address issues etc

Assess emergent works, damage and defects, then review and assess suitability of proposed projects.

Review and comment on installation, inspection and testing documents

For this position you will have a relevant Degree in Engineering coupled with a site safety passport and a detailed understanding of the current health and safety requirements along with working knowledge of CDM.

You will also have a detailed understanding of environmental requirements and confined spaces safety training.

Harness Training is also an essential requirement to have.

The work will essentially be site based and you must have a good knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering and multi-disciplinary engineering with regards to construction, logistics and design based aspects.
