Java Solutions Engineer - Dublin

Our client is a small but global financial applications provider to the banking industry and similar organisations. They design and deliver bespoke software solutions all over the world. They are currently expanding their Product Management Team and are looking to recruit two Java Solutions Engineers.

Role:
•Deliver prototype & demonstrate functionality for the product
•Deliver & package sample business content & configuration to enrich & showcase the application
•Learn about the product and its components, with emphasis on how these components can be configured to achieve end results.
•Ability to quickly understand new business problems and to be creative in devising solutions to them
•Participation in solutions workshops with Product Managers and/or Subject Matter Experts
•Assist in the creation of demonstration applications and tailoring them for specific requirements and scenarios
•Feedback product enhancement suggestions and help prioritise product bugs


Previous Experience:
•Previous experience of working within the Insurance industry (ideally Insurance Claims) or other financial services arena as a minimum.
•Strong technically, but innovative and creative
•Minimum 5+ years software development experience
•3 years working knowledge of Java (1.4 or later)/JSP web application development
•Experience in all of the following: CSS, Javascript, HTML, SQL, Eclipse IDE, Tomcat 5
•Demonstrated ability to quickly learn about new products & technologies as well as meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
•Strong communications & proven ability to work in a team.
•Happy working face to face with customers and flexible with travelling.
•Knowledge of UI design standards and cross-browser compatibility issues for web applications
•Ownership of any development relating to the UI and the application usability
•Proactively & creatively look at ways to improve the usability of the application
•Development of mock-ups and working prototypes with improved usability, better look and feel.
