Outages Project Electrical Engineer
Due to recent outages an experienced HV Electrical Project Engineer is required for a site based role in Fife.
Providing technical support to the project team leader to deliver multi-discipline projects to the value of £125k within budget and to agree time-scales you will be responsible for:
Managing all technical aspects of projects in accordance with the quality management system and prepare technical specifications to detail the defined scope of work for contract purposes.
Develop innovative cost effective multi-discipline design solutions from outline concept information.
Identify the technical resources required for each project for all disciplines including outsourced technical support.
Ensure a scope of work is created to define and agree an appropriate solution for the project with the involvement of station personnel, group engineers and outsourced technical service providers as appropriate.
Manage the hazard study process and prepare and maintain technical risk registers through out the project lifecycle.
Review, and negotiate tender submissions to ensure that the most suitable supplier is selected for the provision of Equipment and Services.
Manage the technical assurance of the project to ensure that the project is delivered to the appropriate Standard during all phases of the project whilst supervising contractors and consultants during all phases of the project life cycle.
Conduct regular Health & Safety behavioural audits and provide technical advice across the Business within specialism as requirements and other resources dictate.
With a background in Electrical engineering, you will have experience in a power generation, petrochemical or similar Capital intensive industry, covering technical, maintenance or engineering roles with involvement in complex engineering projects.
You should have an awareness of safe systems of work and permit requirements for site activities.
Please do not apply for this role unless you have the at least 2 of the following:
Working knowledge of the overhaul and maintenance of Hydrogen cooled Alternators, HV Motors, LV and HV Switchgear, HV Transformers, Working knowledge of Electrical Protection and Earthing systems.
Ideally you will have a working knowledge of LV and HV Cabling system and be familiar with condition monitoring methods and practises along with the Construction, Design Management (CDM) Regulations and ATEX and DSEAR Regulations.
Preferably you will be a Chartered Engineer with a Degree in Electrical or HV Engineering coupled with the experience and ability to manage contractors and deal with CAPEX project from concept to completion.
This is a contract role initially for 12 months but there is a potential for it to go on longer or for you to based at any of their other sites once the contract is complete.
