European Recycling Specialist

An excellent opportunity had arisen to join one of the Worlds largest electonics brands as their European Recycling Specialist. You will required to ensure that the company complies with all relevant legislations (e.g WEEE, packaging, batteries) as well as identify opportunities for volunatry activities and business development.

Key responsibilities include

- Ensure legal compliance with waste legislation in all European territories
- Where appropriate, ensure the company is represented in stakeholder initiatives and industry groups on waste and recycling issues at European level
- Develop & communicate internal and external company policies on waste and recycling at European level

You will have

- Detailed knowledge of European waste and recycling legislation affecting electronical products i.e. WEEE, Packaging, Batteries, Trans-shipment Directives
- 2-3 years experience (minimum) of ensuring compliance with above legislation in multi-national company or on a consultancy basis
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Good negotiation skills, confident developing and putting forward SEC
- Ability to understand complex legislation and influence future policy development;
- 2 European languages and experience of working with European nationalities & cultures;
- Must be prepared to travel within Europe as needed (within reason).

Practical experience of the recycling industry is very desirable as is the ability to combine rigorous internal management of legislative compliance with external policy development and communications.
