Symbian Low level software, Device Drivers, Kernel integration.

Alten Ltd represents the UK branch of the Alten Group, a Pan European engineering practice specialised in R&D.

Alten is currently expanding its Software engineering team for mobile telephony.
We seek a device driver software engineer for Symbian based platform. As a software engineer, you will demonstrate a strong interest in embedded development close to the hardware/firmware.
A a good understanding of Symbian architecture and experience in developing DD and low level code is a good advantage.

Please note that Symbian application development experience only is not sufficient for this role.

# Essential Skills:
- Strong embedded C, good Assembler
- Understanding of ARM based hardware mobile platform from TI, STM, Philips, EMP etc.
- Low level troubleshooting / debugging tools.

# Desirable Skills:
- good Symbian OS kernel understanding.
- Experience in developing low level software for hardware abstraction.
- Experience in developing and integrating device drivers.
- Some C++.
- Good communication skills.
