Graduate Business Developer

Job title: Graduate Business Developer
Reporting to: Managing Director

My client an IT business is in the process of expanding and diversifying its business to provide UK-based IT/Marketing related services to companies in the travel industry, specifically companies within India and Nepal. My client is recruiting an ambitious and career minded individual of graduate calibre to take on the supporting tasks around general business development within this new stream of the company. This is a responsible, demanding and autonomous role and the successful applicant will become totally involved in the day to day requirements of the company's business.

The role consists of a broad range of tasks and the job holder must be flexible and able to cope with working in the agile environment of a small business. The ideal candidate must be qualified to a high standard in order to perform the following duties and roles:

i) Internet marketing for the new business/solution
ii) Sales and business development activities [selling technical solutions into both clients and UK based travel agencies]
iii) Existing account management [liaising with clients in India/Nepal]
iv) Business reporting [financial analysis]
v) Market research and understanding competitors
vi) Innovating and evolving the business [after an initial induction period, my client requires the job holder to be able to innovate and evolve the business and to be of a suitable calibre that allow aspirations of quickly taking on a more senior role]

Skills and Qualifications
i) An aspiring and talented graduate with a UK degree education or equivalent within an IT or Business related discipline.
ii) A commitment to business management such as an MBA qualification would be considered distinctly advantageous.
iii) Exposure within the marketing and sales industries (commercial work experience is a big plus)
iv) Strong IT development skills [knowledge of hardware, software development, networks and the internet with the ability to include database setup and development of an internet based communications system]
v) Strong interpersonal skills and a natural achiever with a proven record of personal achievement.
vi) Client interaction skills, ability to build working relationships, an exemplary telephone manner and an innovative approach to client service
vii) Capability of working under pressure and to deadlines
viii) Ability to analyze, breakdown, and understand complex problems and provide solutions
ix) Knowledge of and the ability to work effectively with the Indian and Nepalese market would be considered advantageous.
x) Knowledge of the popular travel destinations within India and Nepal would be considered advantageous.
xi) Any additional Asian languages would be considered advantageous as many of my client’s clients are based or dealing with those based in India and Nepal.
