Pre Sales - Solutions Architect


Vacancy: Solutions Consultant

THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is the leading provider of service management OSS solutions for delivering next-generation services on cable, wireless and IP broadband networks
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their technical relationship with various customers and prospects throughout Europe, and will participate in a team sales target/quota. He/she will be based out of the company’s UK headquarters in London.

THE ROLE
• Provide pre-sales consultancy to assigned customers and prospects
• Work closely with existing and prospective customers to develop technical solutions and system profiles to meet their requirements
• Provide technical expertise/support and third party product knowledge to provide the customers with a complete solution.
• Assist sales in generating/creating market demand for Sigma’s product portfolio
• Produce timely, accurate, detailed technical responses to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs and Tenders (in conjunction with Sales)
• Undertake occasional Bid management
• Act as primary technical point of contact with the named accounts and prospective customers allocated to him/her
• Make technical sales presentations and conduct product demos
• Liaise with Sigma’s R&D, Product Management and Solution Delivery personnel to identify new product development requirements and ensure Sigma’s software systems are implemented successfully
• Maintain reporting records, as required
• Represent Sigma with professionalism and integrity at all times

THE PERSON
Essential Skills/Qualifications
• Strong technical background and pedigree – particularly in the fields of cable networks, TCP/IP, data networking, UNIX, Oracle, etc.
• Awareness of C or Java some previous programming exp would be useful
• Experience of providing pre-sales technical support and/or consultancy in OSS technologies; especially in Service Provisioning and Activation

• VoIP or Video/IP Experience with Headend knowledge
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, with excellent influencing and listening skills inc Delivery of sales presentations to board level
• Experience in producing RFP/RFI/Tender responses
• Fluency in one other European language would be useful.
• Commercially astute/aware
• Good understanding of general telecommunications platforms and technologies
• Self-starter, but also a good team worker
• Well organised and methodical
• Very high quality written output
• Innovative approach to problem solving
• Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative, quick-thinking, tenacious
• A ‘people person’, who relishes a customer-facing role

Preferable Skills/Qualifications
• 10+ years of providing pre-sales technical support/consultancy into the European cable and/or Telco market
• Degree-level education
• Knowledge of mobile (GSM/GPRS/UMTS) platforms and technologies

THE PACKAGE
Salary range: £40-65,000. No cap on bonus earnings.
