Our client is a FTSE 100 company and is the UK's largest generator of electricity, supplying 20% of the nation’s electricity.

They are a commercially focused, fast moving and customer orientated business succeeding in a competitive sector. With an annual turnover in excess of £1.2bn it counts many of Britain’s largest companies amongst its customers.

You will be responsible for achieving agreed commercial objectives, exceeding service expectations and enhancing their reputation within your Line of Business. With responsibility for managing the relationship lifecycle, you will have a defined portfolio of customers and prospects ranging in contract value from £2.5 Million to in excess of £60 Million.

Whilst managing your own portfolio you will provide integrated support and assistance to others within your Line of Business and extended teams.

You will be pro-active in developing internal and external relationships, having a detailed knowledge of the Line of Business you are operating within. Identifying innovative solutions to meet customer needs.

The role will require various levels of customer contact, consequently travel throughout the UK will be expected.

Key Tasks

• Build and leverage a network of key individuals at corporate clients with the aim of establishing the electricity supplier of choice
• Ensure the maximum potential value is realised from the designated portfolio, meeting the immediate targets and business requirements, whilst delivering long term sustainability
• Act as the prime interface with this portfolio and to influence key decision-makers at all levels
• Proactively develop portfolio through the contact strategy to maximise business opportunities and value
• Feedback customer requirements to enable the business to develop appropriate, profitable and sustainable solutions
• Create and maintain Account Development Plan (ADP) for the portfolio, which results in identifying profitable business opportunities, both current and future
• Prepare plans which are flexible and can cope with changes in time scales and priorities
• Provides relevant information to senior management to allow them to set strategy and direction
• Identify and co-ordinate the necessary resource as part of the virtual team required to support the agreed deliverables.
• Be well informed of the developments in the business/ industry and use this to help influence decisions
• Ensure debt, credit and legal risk is understood and managed

• Act as a role model and mentor, setting high standards through own behaviour and actions, demonstrating the required mindset for a world class organisation

Essential skills and attributes

• Proven negotiation/sales skills
• Track record of successful solution selling – achievement of sales targets to a multiple customer portfolio
• 3-5 years relevant sector or industry experience
• Successful in meeting challenging targets and performance requirements
• Track record in managing a profitable portfolio, maximising value through relationships
• Knowledge of Formal Sales training
• Account planning and ADP approach to selling
• Has an understanding of what constitutes successful and well managed virtual teams
• Be able to demonstrate proven team working skills with the ability to influence at all levels
• Positive, self-motivated and equally comfortable with working alone and as part of a virtual/extended team.
• Apply problem-solving skills to complex issues to produce speedy and comprehensive resolution.
• Demonstrate a flexible working approach and be able to effectively prioritise workload, including relevant levels of delegation
• Ability to perform with pressure of delivery deadlines
• Able to lead and inspire other team members

The salary for this post is dependant on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
