Job Profile

A tremendous, CV enhancing opportunity for a talented Electrical Systems Engineer to take a high profile role in a major UK maritime programme as part of a talented team within a company which is a world leader in its field.

Key accountabilities

As the Appointee, you will be the subject matter expert within the company for electrical and propulsion systems automation and will be the company’s Technical Represent with the client, all suppliers and the prime contractor.

You will be required to produce systems specifications and design for plant control and monitoring systems, developing the systems automation operating philosophy through operational & task analysis, assessment of operability. You will gain acceptance for the operating philosophy and prepare the tasks and validation criteria for acceptance.

Finally you will conduct technical reviews, manage contractual requirements, ensuring traceability from systems development through to delivery and commissioning.


Qualifications & Experience required

Typically, you will possess a relevant Degree (or equivalent) and in-depth knowledge of maritime electrical and propulsion systems and controls. You will have the experience and ability to undertake systems specification/ design and procurement of ships electrical systems and have worked on UK defence/ maritime projects from concept and design through to acceptance and commissioning.

Personal
You will need good planning, communicating and organising skills plus a competency with MS Office (Word, Excel, MS Project and PowerPoint). The multi-disciplined team you will be joining is highly capable whilst being relaxed in approach.
