Operations Manager - Water Bottling Plant / Afghanistan

Our Client is a multi- national food logistics and facilities provider. Our Client has won a contract to manage a water bottling plant located at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan on behalf of one of the countries who is participating in ISAF, the multi-national peacekeeping force in Afghanistan.

They are currently seeking an accomplished Operations Manager for this bottling plant who will eventually become the Site General Manager.

The successful candidate will be embedded in to the third party water bottling facility and will be our clients representative on site and will monitor all operational and financial aspects of the site.

The intention is that the job holder will become the Site General Manager when full management responsibility for the plant transfers to our client.

Knowledge and Skills:

You will need to be an accomplished logistics professional / Operations Manager ideally with your experience gained in a drinks bottling plant environment, giving exposure to business development, quality systems and procedures and budgetary control.

You should be experienced in change management, and excellent inter-personal skills are essential as is an innovative and analytical approach.

Above all you must have the natural ability and courage to drive change, maintain morale and deliver results. A military background would be very useful.

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.

Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

Finally you should be PC / IT literate and possess a Drivers Licence.

This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Operations Manager looking for something different. Whilst our Clients operation is somewhat unique they are in it for the long term and are looking for a minimum of 18 to 24 months commitment.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus payable which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, health insurance and meals are provided free. In addition employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also the internet for e-mails etc.

Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the working rota is approximately 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off

Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year and Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
